Bible Verses for a Broken Relationship

Heartbreak has a particular weight to it. These verses don't rush you past it.

// the word for this moment

“He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.”

Psalm 147:3 (KJV)

More Scripture for a broken relationship

“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”

Romans 8:28 (KJV)

“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”

Proverbs 3:5-6 (KJV)

What this means for you

A relationship ending — whether it was your choice or not — leaves a particular kind of ache, because it's grief for something that's still walking around in the world without you. Romans 8:28 gets quoted a lot, sometimes too quickly, as if it erases the pain. It doesn't promise this didn't hurt. It promises it isn't wasted, even the parts you can't see the purpose of yet.

A prayer for this moment

Lord, this hurts more than I expected it to, and I don't need to minimize that in front of You. Bind up what's broken in me right now. Help me not to rush this or numb it, but to actually heal. Where I need to forgive — them or myself — give me the strength to start. Show me who You are even in this. Amen.
