Parenting can wear you down in ways no one warns you about. These verses are for the exhausted, doing-their-best days.
// the word for this moment
“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”
Philippians 4:13 (KJV)
“He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young.”
Isaiah 40:11 (KJV)“Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”
Proverbs 22:6 (KJV)Isaiah 40:11 pictures God as a shepherd who gently leads those that are with young — there's an acknowledgment built into that image that parents move at a different pace, carry a different weight, and need a gentler hand than the rest of the flock. You're not failing because you're tired. The verse that often gets quoted for strength, Philippians 4:13, was written by a man who knew what it was to be in want — it's strength for the actual hard day, not a guarantee the hard day won't come.
