*Jealousy* may seem very little and harmless, but it in fact impedes the Believer's spiritual growth. God values the state of our heart when we pray, more than the words we utter. The heart is the *heart of the matter.* That is why our Lord Jesus Christ said in *Matthew 5:23-24*, _“So if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there before the altar and go. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.”_ In other words, anything that taints our heart, like *an offence* against another person, can cause a great rift between us and God. You see how much the posture of the human heart matters to God? More than the worship songs we sing to Him. More than church attendance. More than eye-service. If God says, _“settle your differences with your brethren first, before coming to me,”_ what do you think He would say to the Christian who is jealous of someone? Unforgiveness in the heart is not worse than jealousy in the heart. They both can ruin as much. There is no *“Powerful, jealous man/woman of God.”*
