5 Apologetic points 👉 to remember in Conversations Nowadays, you have to be able to defend your beliefs. So it was something that I was concerned about, and for sometime now I have sought to equip myself. So I am sharing from what I am learning. 1. Truth is Objective, Not Relative Why it matters: (John 8:32) -Some claim that truth is subjective, but this contradicts itself. If truth is relative, then that statement is meaningless. ----Objective truth exists in science, logic, and morality, and in spiritual matters too. ----Jesus did not say "I am one way"; He said "I am the way" (John 14:6) 2. The Universe Had a Beginning, so it must have a cause The cause leads to God (Genesis 1:1) Why it Matters -Science confirms the universe had a starting point (Big Bang) -Anything with a beginning must have a cause; it cannot create itself -The best explanation for the origin of time, space and matter is an all powerful God. 3. Objective morality points to a moral giver. If there's no God, then morality is just opinion. (Romans 2:15) A moral law requires a moral law giver (God) 4. Jesus' resurrection is a historical fact If Jesus rose from the dead, then Christianity is true, period. (1 Corinthians 15:14) -Over 500 eyewitnesses saw Jesus after his Crucifixion. -The disciples died for their testimony, people do not die for a lie they made up -Even secular historians confirm Jesus's death and the explosion of Christianity afterwards. Eg. Cornelius Tacitus; Flavius Josephis and Pliny the Younger 5. Christianity is about Jesus, not just religion (Ephesians 2:8-9) -Every other religion is about works base, only Christians offers grace through faith. 3.
