In spiritual warfare, you also have to learn how to stay under God's protection. That's the defensive part of spiritual warfare. It's as crucial as the offensive. Ephesians 6:10-18 talks about putting on the whole armor of God. But it goes way beyond that in practical terms for someone who confronts the kingdom of darkness. Your warfare prayers are received as spiritual attacks by the kingdom of darkness. You aren't auto-immune against their own attacks either. After praying to destroy the works of darkness, it's equally important to know the right words to say and the right things to do in order to protect yourself against their reprisal attacks. You cannot afford to be a soldier who goes to the war front with a bazooka but wearing a shirt and a trouser. Don't play with your life. Never underestimate the enemy.
