Objection #4 "Trinity is three gods" 1. Define the claim: We believe in one God, One Being, one essence, one nature (Deuteronomy 6:4) Other references: (The Father is God....Phillipians 1:2; The Son is God...John 1:1 & 20:28 The Spirit is God.....Acts 5:3-4) 2. When they say 1+1+1=1. Trinity isn't math or God a math problem. "If you want a math analogy 1×1×1=1 is correct. But even that falls short because math cannot explain the nature of an infinite God." 3. Expose the real reason the trinity is rejected -The Trinity is rejected because it destroys every false views of Jesus. If Jesus is God the Son, Islam is wrong. Jehovah's Witnesses are wrong. Unitarians are wrong. Every worldview that denies the deity of Christ collapses instantly. Objection #5 "Jesus isn't the Son of God." 1. Define the claim Son is a title of equality, not biology - Even the Quran denies a Son because it assumes Son means a literal offspring (Surah 6) 2. Explain the Biblical meaning of Son In Scripture, Son means same nature and same essence. Jesus is claiming equality with the Father. That is why Jews accused Him of blasphemy (John 5). "Son does not lower Him. Son places Him on the throne." 3. Expose the double standard Islam accepts sons metaphorically. Adam, angels, Israel are all called God's sons. Islam has no problem as metaphorically sonship isn't the issue. The problem is not the word Son. The problem is the magnitude of the Son you are dealing with. Evidence: The Son existed before creation. Colossians 1 worshipped by angels. Hebrews 1 sent from heaven. Galatians 4 does what the Father does. John 5 gives eternal life. John 10 the radiance of God's glory. Hebrews 1 sits on the eternal throne. Hebrews 1 "No prophet claims these things. No angel receives these things. No created being possesses these things. Only the divine Son does."
