Back in the days in the youth ministry I was once part of, we used to jokingly ask ourselves this question: “If God gave you the money you're looking for, would you still remain faithful to Him?” In those days, it seemed like a very easy thing to do, and we would all answer, “Of course yes, why not?” But the more I mature both physically and spiritually, the more I come to realise that that was a real question about a real matter that seriously impacts our relationship with God. People spend years praying for children. God answers their prayers. The children come, then they get preoccupied with raising their kids to the extent they barely have time for God. They could no longer spend quality time in prayer; personal Bible study gets replaced with 30 minutes weekly Sunday school sessions. Now they have what they wanted from God and that thing has replaced God in their life. To be honest, this is happening and can happen to anyone. It gets really easy for man to become unfaithful towards God—*very easy.* There will always be reasonable excuses to give. Yes, your reason sounds very convincing: you didn't have kids at that time, so you had all the time for God. Now you have kids, they eat up all your time. But the Bible says in *Matthew 6:21* _“For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”_ No worries, God knows the truth. And the truth is PRIORITIES. Your priorities changed the moment God gave you what you asked for. God is not surprised. An experienced person like me wouldn't be surprised either. I've been there, done that. It takes real *self-discipline* to stay loyal to God amidst having the blessings we asked for. And that's something that separates one Christian from another.
