The people of this world value their roots in the world more than anything else. Don't be like them. Some years back when I was teaching in a school, one of my coworkers (who hailed from my state) once questioned the last time I visited my village. I truthfully told her, “I cannot remember. It's been a long time." I became the topic in the staff room throughout the whole week. Other coworkers joined in — they said I don't know my roots. I kept quiet throughout. Most of them were not saved and I totally understood where they were speaking from — a carnal mind. It's already expected... that they would love their roots in the world more than one's roots in Christ. To them, if you don't frequent your village you're like a castaway—but no issues if you have no roots in Christ. Theirs is understandable. The pitiable ones are Christians who hold the same beliefs as these people. I've crossed paths with Believers who could not do without visiting their village. To them, it's their roots where they hail from, and they cannot stop visiting. And that's exactly one of the major reasons why many of such Christians find it difficult getting total deliverance from evil foundations and family altars. When they're almost delivered, they revisit their village, their hometown, that evil home where they grew up — which still harbours the same evil people and demons. They eat from there. They spend their money there. They sleep there. Then they return with new chains. They love their chains too much to stop revisiting these places. A Christian's true roots is in Christ, not a geographical location on earth. Concerning family, the world often says *“blood is thicker than water.”* Dear, Jesus's blood is way *thicker* than what exists between me and the circle of people where I was born into. If there are things required to let go in order to perfect your deliverance, do it for your own good. My roots are in Christ alone — and I know how much mess that has saved me from.
