You can't change anyone, you draw them close enough to Jesus for Him to change them. And no one can achieve that by acting like an unmerciful God over another human. Anyone who is truly close to Jesus knows that He's very merciful, compassionate, patient and understanding. You cannot be more righteous and stricter than God. If He were to handle you just from the strict and righteous facet of Him, you wouldn't survive it.
